RESEARCH METHOD Research design This study employs a systematic literature review, focusing on peer-reviewed articles published between 1970 and 2024. The research focuses on CEO bias, moral hazard, adverse selection, and the use of fintech tools in digital banking. The selected articles were sourced from Scopus. Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases. Data collection The literature review focuses on 20 primary studies which address the relationship between CEO bias, moral hazard, adverse selection, and financial sustainability in digital banks. While fintech innovations such as big data and machine learning have improved the ability of banks to assess borrower risk, they cannot fully mitigate the risks posed by information asymmetry, especially when CEO bias skews decision-making.
