Abstract This research aims to find out the effectiveness of lyric of song in increasing writing skill at SMAN 12 Kabupaten Tangerang. The population of this research is the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 12 Kabupaten Tangerang. The sample took by used total sampling. The number of samples is 35 students. This research used preexperimental method with pre-test and post-test design. The pre-test given to know basically skill of the studentsAo writing skills and post-test given to know the studentsAo improvement in writing skill after given the treatment, and the researcher used lyric of the song as media in writing skills. The result of this research shows that there are significant improvements on students writing skill after conducting the The result of data is normally distributed and homogeneous.
