Using a descriptive qualitative design, the study involved 78 second-semester university students enrolled in an Academic English course who completed an explainer video project. Data were collected through video content analysis and open-ended student perception surveys. The findings indicate that engaging students in explainer video production contributes meaningfully to the development of academic language skills and multimodal competence, as students demonstrated progress in academic vocabulary use, logical organization of ideas, clarity of explanation, oral fluency, and confidence in spoken English.
