The purpose of this study was to determine the character of responsibility in grade V The subjects of this study were students in grades V at MI Hidayatussibyan NW Sengkerang, even semester, 2023/2024 academic year. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the character of responsibility possessed by grade V students at MI Hidayatussibyan NW Sengkerang includes carrying out tasks that are well received and full of readiness, completing things responsibly, doing tasks according to their abilities, thinking before acting and considering the consequences. exists, is responsible for attitudes, words and actions and is responsible for attitudes, words and actions. This happens because of habituation to be able to shape the character of student responsibility which is carried out in school. INTRODUCTION Social problems in the surrounding environment regarding national character have become a crisis of thought and concern and have even become problems with a high level of complexity for all groups, including children, teenagers and even the elderly. Instilling character values is something that requires support from all groups involved. therefore the three educational centers which include the family environment, school environment and community environment must coordinate with each other to create harmony and social environmental conditions that are in accordance with values and norms. Actions that are not in accordance with values and norms begin with the emergence of an attitude of indifference to social values, an attitude that shows the decline of the national character value which is often ignored, namely the character of responsibility. Character responsibility is the behavior that an individual must have to carry out his duties and obligations. Responsibility can also be interpreted as being obliged to bear everything that has been done with all the risks that must be accepted. The character value of responsibility instilled at MI Hidayatussibyan NW Sengkerang is a characteristic that must be possessed by all school members in addition to several other character values. Referring to the results of previous research, it shows that the character of students' responsibilities varies. In accordance with research written by(Indah Ayu Lestari, 2. Regarding Responsible Character Education in Scouting Extracurricular Activities at MI Ma'arif NU Ajibarang Kulon. Ajibarang District. Banyumas Regency, it shows that there is a responsible character manifested in the form of a character of responsibility towards oneself, society, the nation and God Almighty. The term character is not new to Indonesian society, character is manifested in habits in everyday life, including the mind, heart and behavior of an individual. Definition of character according to(Pasani, et al. , 2. Character is an original characteristic that exists within a person that differentiates him from other people. This opinion is reinforced by the opinion expressed by(Safitri, 2. Character is a person's personality which is formed from the internalization of various values that are believed and used as a basis for thinking and acting. This is in line with the opinion expressed by(Kurniawan, 2. Character is a person's character, character, morals, or personality which is formed from the internalization of various virtues that are believed to and underlie the person's perspective, thinking, attitude and way of acting. When a person understands the character within him, he will easily carry out his duties as an individual, a society or even a citizen with good character. This is reinforced by the opinions expressed(Ramdhani, 2. Character is a way of thinking and behaving that is unique to each individual, both within the family, community, nation and state. Meanwhile, according to(Amri, et al. , 2. Character is a personal quality that gives rise to various positive behaviors . or positive character. or bad behavior as a reflection of bad Human awareness is closely related to responsibility, because this is a characteristic that can lead to a better and better life. According to(Suryanti and Yasir, 2. Responsibility is an awareness that must be possessed in carrying out obligations and duties in accordance with predetermined regulations. This opinion is reinforced by the opinion of(Qualified, 2. Responsibility is a person's character who always tries to carry out obligations as best as possible and complete them on time. A responsible person will do something that is his duty without compulsion, this is in line with the opinion expressed by(Musa, et al. , 2. Responsibility is a situation where you have the obligation to do something wholeheartedly without feeling forced or burdened, admitting that you have made a mistake and completing the task until it is completed completely. This attitude applies to oneself, other people, nature, and to God Almighty. This is in line with opinion(Syarbini, 2. Responsibility is a person's attitude and behavior to carry out his duties and obligations, which he should do, both towards himself, society, the environment . atural, social and cultura. as well as the country and God Almighty. Meanwhile, the definition of responsibility according to(Apriani and Wangid, 2. Responsibility means being brave, ready and steadfast in accepting decisions and actions carried out intentionally or unintentionally. Based on the theory that has been discussed, researchers can synthesize that the character of responsibility is a personality possessed by a person who is able to complete something without compulsion and can accept the consequences if he makes a mistake, either towards himself, others and the surrounding environment. RESEARCH METHOD The type of approach in this research uses descriptive qualitative which aims to reveal data in the field by describing and interpreting things like what happens in the field with the aim of getting a real and in-depth picture of the character of student responsibility at MI Hidayatussibyan NW Sengkerang. The subjects in this research were 4 fifth grade students who had a higher level of responsibility than other students. This research was conducted based on events in the field, then the findings were described by the researcher. This study focuses more on examining interrelated educational processes and phenomena. Information sources are those that can provide rich information for in-depth study. Some of the respondents who will be involved are school principals, class teachers and students, because they are considered capable of providing relevant and reliable information. The data collection technique in this research uses triangulation techniques, namely a combination of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of data collection in the field will be written in field notes. Data analysis in qualitative research is carried out using the following processing procedures and techniques: carrying out activities of abstracting or summarizing data in a systematic evaluation report and focused on core things . ata reductio. , summarizing the main things and then arranging them in the form of detailed descriptions. narrative and systematic so that it makes it easier to find a central theme according to the focus or formulation of the elements being evaluated and makes it easier to give meaning . ata presentatio. and search for meaning from the data collected more thoroughly . ata RESEARCH RESULTS AND DISCUSSION This research data was carried out interactively and continued continuously until the data the researchers obtained reached a saturation point. This data was obtained by researchers from the results of observations, interviews and documentation regarding the character of students' responsibility. In this study, the researcher involved resource persons as informants who were very important in digging up information about the character of responsibility of class V The sources in question included the principal, class teacher and students who provided information on the character of responsibility while at school so that they could obtain useful information. The information that the researcher obtains, the researcher records in a research note format in accordance with research rules, namely the results of observations, observations, interviews and documentation are recorded in field Before conducting research in the field, the researcher consulted the student responsibility character research guidelines which contain observation guidelines and interview guidelines by going through a process of guidance and agreement with the two Based on the results of student observations and interviews, research data regarding the character of student responsibility found that before carrying out activities, students made preparations first, in carrying out assignments students felt enthusiastic about doing them, students also carried out assignments received diligently because they had the desire to get good grades. obtained good, students complete assignments carefully for fear of having bad grades, if students are given assignments, students can do their own assignments on time so that they can be completed quickly, picket schedules at school are carried out according to the rules so that the classroom is clean and students can do their own assignments without the help of other people if they feel capable, if they find difficulties then students ask their friends, if friends cannot help, students ask the class teacher. Students know what benefits they feel when doing assignments and can also know the consequences that will occur if they do not do assignments. Based on data from interviews with the principal named Mr. Bakri. Pd. I, the researchers found that class V students at MI Hidayatussibyan NW Sengkerang already have their own character of responsibility, but must be guided by their class teacher, because of this. It is a habit that must be implemented so that students and even the school community can have the good character that is expected, especially the character of The results of interviews with three sources, including students, teachers and the principal, said that students made preparations before carrying out activities, students did assignments with enthusiasm, students were diligent when doing assignments, students were thorough when doing assignments, students were able to do the assignments they received themselves, students do assignments on time and are motivated when the teacher gives the agreed time, students are used to carrying out class pickets regularly, students are able to do assignments themselves without the help of others, students look for solutions to problems if they encounter difficulties such as asking questions, students understand and know the benefits that will felt when doing assignments through habits that the teacher provides in class, students know the consequences that will occur if they do not do assignments, students can watch their words and attitudes, students are able to appreciate and express gratitude when they get help from others, students have special time at home , students do assignments on time if they receive encouragement from the teacher or parents. The problem revealed in the research is the character of responsibility in class I students at MI Hidayatussibyan NW Sengkerang. The character of responsibility is a person's behavior to be able to complete obligations and be able to accept the consequences and risks if they make a mistake, either towards themselves or others. As can be seen in the research findings, students are responsible for carrying out assignments that are received well and with full readiness, in implementation such as making preparations before carrying out activities, students are motivated and have a sense of enthusiasm in doing the assignment, are diligent when doing the assignment even though sometimes they have to be reminded by the teacher and have accuracy. This is in accordance with the responsibility character indicators according to(Rahayu, 2. express as follows: 1. Use time effectively. Make preparations before learning 3. Carry out individual assignments received 4. Carry out the discussion process 5. Work on questions or problems carefully. Students who have a responsible character are able to complete things responsibly, such as being able to do the assignments they receive themselves, but with material they have mastered. Students are also able to do assignments on time so that students are encouraged when the teacher gives the agreed time, this is reinforced by opinions(Sari, 2. Responsibility is a person's attitude or behavior to carry out their duties and obligations, especially students because they have a responsibility to learn as the next generation of the nation with intelligence and character. Responsible students will carry out assignments according to their abilities, be able to do it without the help of others and know what to do if they encounter difficulties, such as asking the teacher or other friends. This agrees with the character of responsibility put forward by(Muchlas and Hariyanto, 2. Apart from that, students also know the consequences that will occur if they do not do their assignments, but teachers also remind and provide direction so that students can do better as stated by(Zubaedin, 2. Responsibility is a person's ability to be accountable and have the feeling to fulfill tasks reliably, independently and with commitment. The habituation carried out at school is expected to be able to foster good habits for students so that the character of responsibility for attitudes, words and actions can be formed. Students can watch their words and attitudes, and are used to expressing appreciation and gratitude to others when they receive help. This is reinforced by the characteristics of responsible character proposed by(Winarsih, 2. including: 1. Knowing that every incident that happened to him was because he was also involved in causing the incident. Take into account the consequences of the actions you have made so that you are always careful in determining all decisions you take. Students with a responsible character can use their time effectively and efficiently, have special time to study or do assignments other than those recommended at home, because at school that time is already used for studying. Students can also do their assignments on time by getting encouragement from their teachers or parents. This is also in line with what Majid and Dian . stated: responsibility is to regularly complete tasks on time, avoid breaking promises and carry out tasks until they are completed. CONCLUSION Based on the process of data collection, data processing, as well as discussion of research results and findings, it can be concluded that class IV students at MI Hidayatussibyan NW Sengkerang Even Semester for the 2019/2020 Academic Year already have a responsible character. The implementation includes aspects of carrying out tasks well and with full readiness, aspects of completing things with full responsibility, aspects of carrying out tasks according to ability, aspects of thinking before acting and considering existing consequences, aspects of being responsible for attitudes, words and and aspects of using the allotted time effectively and efficiently.
